SOLAR ENERGY REVOLUTION IS BEING KILLED EVEN BEFORE IT STARTED - PART 1

The greed of us in India is legendary. We only have to see an opportunity and then we start milking it so much that it becomes a dead cow.

Try reading news on solar energy contracts, taxations, duties, imports, tenders, and you would realize that every day something somewhere is being destroyed for solar energy

TO MANY REGULATORS ARE SPOILING THE BROTH

The government is sleep walking. You have as many regulators as solar energy users. Every state has its own solar energy policy. and its own regulators. The cacophony it raises in the country and the proverbial red tape it creates is worth seeing with your own Eyes. It seems that each state has its own sun and should govern it the way it likes

THE CONUNDRUM - TO BE OT NOT TO BE GOD

Try finding out the quality of those people who are regulators and you would find nobody knows what is happening in the sector? An example - UP regulators have passed a directive that in future except residential and agriculture sector all other sectors will have gross metering system. They will produce solar energy but will not be able to use it.  The solar power they generate will be bought by the state at Rs. 3.00 per unit. And they will have to buy electricity from the grid for their use at the rate of Rs. 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 or more per unit

You can look at this charade in the following ways

1. You spend your money say around 5 Crores for a 1 MW plant. Then you produce free solar power of 6000 units every day. Then you don’t use it for your self. But sell it to the government for 3 rupees per unit. And buy all the electricity from the government for Rs. 10 per unit.

2. Or you will be taxed heavily for putting up a solar power plant where whatever you earn you will have to pay 65 percent of it to the government and you keep the res. That is beyond the GST, which to encourage the renewable energy, the government has marked at 5%.

3. Or you produce the solar electricity, and just because you do not have any place to park it so you park your power with our grid, but you will have to pay a very heavy price for the same almost as much as our bill we send to you.

4. Remember the con we did for the petroleum industry. Lowest crude price highest taxes. Well you are our crude solar energy producer and we buy cheap electricity from you but instead of selling it to someone else we sell it back to you at prices we charged we there was no solar energy so that we do the con again

5. If all industrial units, hotels, hospitals and Builders and others start using solar energy then what we will do? We will become jobless. Already all other fossil fuel-based power producing companies are shifting majorly into solar so we are making such laws to discourage expansion of solar energy completely.

Pick whichever option you deem fit. Multiply this shit by at least 30 times (number of states in India and the Center). I hope you get the picture. Wait till you see the rest of the picture.
