Lucknow: Mahboob Ahmed, the father of a Muslim boy has lodged a complaint to the district magistrate and the State Minority Commission (SMC) saying that his son was picked up from school and was taken to an RSS. The complaint was lodged on Tuesday.

Ahmed’s son- 15-year-old Gulzar studies in Class VIII at a local government junior high school in Uska Bazar town of Siddharth Nagar.

The father has also alleged that the boy was taught anti-Muslim ethics at the camp. He further expressed his intention to withdraw Gulzar along with his two other children from the school.

Mahboob has claimed that Gulzar was taken to the camp under the fake name Vijay Kumar.

However, rubbishing the allegations, RSS District Sah Prachar Pramukh Vipul Singh said: “It seems that local Muslim leaders had sent the boy to the camp with a changed name with some wrong intentions. As he failed to execute the same, they are now trying to malign the RSS’s image. Gulzar had himself filled his admission form as Vijay Kumar.”

Gulzar according to his father attended the RSS camp at Surya Mahavidyalaya, 35 km from Uska Bazar. Surya Mahavidyalaya is owned by BJP MP Jagdambika Pal.

Mohammad Akmal Khan, Circle Officer (City), after inquiring the matter said that Gulzar has acknowledged that he did not know whether he was at RSS camp. But he wanted to attend it since three of his friends were going there. He then changed his name as his friends told him that the camp is not for Muslims.

“The commission has sought a report from the district administration and action will be taken if the Muslim family was pressured to change their statement,” said SMC spokesperson Shafi Azmi.

The school principal has maintained that he is clueless regarding how the student ended in the RSS camp.
