New Face Of Politicians Guile / Public Beguiled

Noman a 20 year old was lynched by Bajrang Dal activists when they thought he was engaged in cow slaughter. And then the Prime Minister asked how the Center was responsible for Dadri Lynching. This fresh killing is the law and order situation for Himachal Government just like Dadri killing was the failure of the UP government.  When more of such atrocious illegal criminal acts will be done by other fringe communal organisations then the CMs will say that they are not responsible for the lynching as it was the law and order situation of the Jila Panchayats. Finally the ball will roll to the gram pradhans.

The leaders have started using it so frequently and so adroitly that you are almost compel to believe them. So every time some crime happens in Delhi, which raises public outcry, up comes an ad in the news, a radio ad, a TV interview, a hoarding, posters and a text message on every mobile – a request from Mr Kejriwal to Prime Minister to let the Police of Delhi be given to State Government for a year so that Kejriwal may save the state. This is invariably the first reaction of the CM as soon as the news of crime spreads out. By one stroke of genius the entire crime is morally shifted to PM and everyone sleeps easy.

This trick was converted into a fine art when the Prime Minister spoke of what the Center has to do with the lynching at Dadri.  Going by this logic the PM doesn’t have to do anything in this country because every geography in this country is lying with some state or the other. Even the Parliament and PMs residence falls in Delhi State.

Let’s visit this phenomenon of merry-go round of shifting responsibility. The various ploys of politicians for shifting responsibilities are

(1) State vs. Center (as mentioned above)

(2) The same crime has been committed earlier and nothing was done

(3) Why did they never protest when same thing happened earlier

(4) It hurts our feeling so everything is justified

(5) Everything is good today if it was good in ancient age

(6) If we are in majority then we own the country. Rest is living here on our mercy and on borrowed time.

The last one was used by Mr. Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana when he said that Muslims will be allowed to live in this country only if they stop eating beef. Permitting an entire community to stay in India is Khattar’s big achievement. It seems that these Muslims came to India after Khattar took charge as the Haryana CM.

Every politician wants to impress the public that they are the true servant of this great country. And they have legitimate excuse of doing or not doing anything just because of the above-given reasons. Let us see till what time the public remains beguiled such lame shifting of onus by such politicians. Eventually, it will see their guile.
