New Delhi: Traffic police in the city have launched a plan under ‘Jansahayog Scheme’ under which people who report more than 100 traffic violations in a month will be awarded gifts.

Anyone who wants to report a traffic violation to the cops will have to register on the DTP helpline number- 8750871493, and share details about the violations including the ones like riding without helmet, triple riding, yellow line violation, stop line violation, driving against the flow of traffic, parking on footpath or a defective number plate.

“After winning 50 points and 75 points, the member will be sent alerts. Registered members will then be awarded suitable gifts, free vouchers on completion of 100 Whatsapp reported violations to Delhi traffic police,” said Muktesh Chander, special commissioner, traffic.

One can also report violations in the form of short video clips. However, the video should contain clear photographic view of the registration number plate of the vehicle.
