Agra: A couple from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district was exiled from the village after their homemade porn video became viral on social media. Whereas the boy has already left the village the girl has been given a deadline of ten days to search for another place.

The village panchayat was held at Naai Ki Mandi where the couple was reprimanded for bringing disgrace to the entire community and as a punishment, was asked to leave the village. Both the boy and the girl were publicly shamed and their families were also humiliated.

As reported by TOI the police investigation has revealed that the video was recorded by another person, who then uploaded it online. Afterwards, some people from the village made a CD of the act and shared it with others.

The police is on the watch out for the ex-boyfriend of the girl’s elder sister who is suspected to have done this for taking revenge on her for lodging a molestation complaint against him last year.

The police, however, maintained that the panchayat has no right to banish the couple from the village.

"If the couple had uploaded the video with mutual consent, there is no offence unless it is intended to malign someone. This could be an offence under the Information Technology Act if anyone files a complaint. A panchayat cannot throw someone from their houses," said the Superintendent of Police.
