Bareilly: Nothing could have been more shocking and more gruesome than brothers killing their sister and afterwards making a display of her severed, bleeding head around the village.

Two brothers, Gul Hasan (25) and Nanhey (20) belonging to the Bamani Chowki village were angry with their 17-year old sister for having an affair with a cousin. The girl had earlier expressed a desire to marry the cousin. The brothers however,  were not in favour of the marriage and had advised her to stay away from their cousin.

The sister, Phool Jahan didn’t listen to her brothers’ warning and spent the night at her cousin’s house. Both Gul Hasan and Nanhey spotted her out their cousin’s house on Monday afternoon and got enraged after they found out that she had spent the night at their cousin’s place. They lost their cool and dragged her away and cut her head off with a chopper. It seems that they didn’t have any remorse for killing their sister so brutally as they were seen marching around the village with their sister’s head.

"Dekho, hamne apni behen ko maar dala aur pyar karney ki yehi sazaa hoti hai" (This is what happens as punishment for having an affair), the brothers said, putting the severed head on display.

The village lies under the jurisdiction of Paraur police station in Shahjhanapur district. The incident was reported on Monday.
