Lucknow: TheBJP in Uttar Pradesh is preparing to impart training to nearly 2 lakh soldierswho will act as a link between the party and the voter and will also respond tothe queries related to the ideology and the functioning of the party.

“These partyworkers will be trained to address the questions from the people and even theallegations of the Opposition on key issues. They will function as partyideologues at the grassroots level and will help in strengthening the partyorganisation as well as preparing for the upcoming Assembly elections,” said asenior state leader.

The partyhas proposed a three-tier training programme, which will be followed by atwo-tier workshop where the soldiers will be trained.  According to party sources, only trustedworkers will be included in the training programme.

“Thetraining camps will be held in all divisions this month and will then befollowed by 72-hour workshops so that the cadres are ready to face thepanchayat elections in October. In fact, the first impact of this will betested in the panchayat elections,” the functionary said.

“If we haveto win the panchayat elections and even hope for a comeback in the assemblyelections, we must learn to respect our own workers and cadres. Givingpreference to those who have come in from other parties is only serving todamage the organisation at the grassroots level,” said a BJP MLA.

Partyleaders in the state feel that recently the party has shifted away from itsideology and has also given preference to turncoats, which has greatly harmedthe image of the party. The party cadres will be trained to dispel the falseallegations made against the Centre and Modi by the Opposition while answeringall other queries of the voters.
