Agartala: The by-election in Pratapgarh and Surma constituencies will be held on June 27. The date of filing nomination is June 10.
The CPI-M has begun campaigning with BJP and Congress yet to decide on the names of candidates.  The Election Commission of India had issued an official notification for by-elections in Tripura on May 27.

According to ECI notification, counting will start on June 30. Scrutiny of papers will be done on June 11. The polling will begin at 8 am and continue till 5 pm. The elections will be completed by July 2.

The ECI has directed that identification shall be compulsory in the aforementioned elections at the time of poll.  Electoral photo identity card(EPIC)  will serve as the main identification of the voter. The model code of conduct will be enforced in the district in which part or whole of the constituency is situated.

The State Election Commission is entrusted to issue the notification for the elections on June 3, 2015. All the political parties in the state are looking forward to the by-elections.
