Palghar: The Election Commission of India announced on May 29 that bye polls to the Palghar assembly constituency will be held on June 27.
The seat fell vacant on May 24,2015 after Shiv Sena MLA Krishna Ghoda died.

The ECI issued a notice declaring that bye polls to the Palghar assembly constituency in the district will be held on June 27, the Election Commission of India (ECI) officially announced here today.

The Election Commission of India issued a notice declaring the model code of conduct would soon be enforced in the district where the election is going to be conducted.

The notification for the bye polls would be issued on June 3 and the starting date of filing nominations would start on the same day. The end date of filing of nominations is June 10. The last date of withdrawal is June 13.

Counting of votes would start on June 30, using electoral rolls with  reference to  January 1as qualifying date.
