New Delhi: Second special observation camp has been launched by secretary Senti Ao on National Electoral Purification and Authentication Programme  at Bhandari sub-division, Wokha. Senti Ao supervised the event as Special Roll Observer ( SRO) on May 17 at Bhandari town hall and V. K. town under Zunheboto district on May 28 at V K town community hall.

The Election Commission of India  has launched the programme  for purification of electoral rolls. Speaking at the event, Senti Ao said that the programme was meant to achieve error-free e-roll.

He added that ECI had found many types of errors in e-roll with reference to January 1 even after summary revision of e-rolls conducted every year for inclusion of illegible voters, correction of errors, deletion of multiple entries, repeating of images, repeating of EPIC numbers and dead voters etc.

Senti Ao further informed that based on the final e-roll 2015, de-duplication of electors and list of errors have been detected using the ECI ERMS software module.

Taking Kohima and Dimapur as the focal districts, he said that data of all other districts have been run against these districts and the data of these two districts have been compared against each other.

Senti Ao said that all errors and duplicates generated by ERMS software would be subjected to actual physical verification without any exception.  He added that multiple entries in e-roll would be a futile exercise and it is illegal as per Section 18 of the representative of People’s Act 1950.

He called upon all citizens to co-operate for achieving a total error-free and authenticated electoral roll.
