She did what had been done long before by many of us. It is not like we haven't received any lewd remarks from random people on social media. But we always sought to keep mum and turn a blind eye. Why? Because all of this has become workaday events of life. Such men will keep on doing things to annoy us, how many of them will we fight? So, why not hide ourselves, let them do what they are doing to us; endure the agony, scream with shame and pain deep inside our hearts. Lastly, let us encourage those perverts to bully and victimize other girls and scar them for life. Why? Because it is of no use to muster courage and give them a jaw-breaking answer.

Prerna Pratham Singh, who raised her voice forthrightly and told the man and his alike that such decadence will not be tolerated, serves a lesson to all of us. Raushan Kumar thought that he will get away easily from his wrongdoings of messaging sexually explicit content to Prerna. But he certainly did not expect that she will not remain passive. Instead, she took a screenshot of the conversation and posted it on her Facebook wall to tell the world how low people can get.

The harasser got a much-needed lesson and made excuses that his account got hacked and someone misused it. However, the lame alibi did not come to his rescue, which ultimately forced him to deactivate his account. But it is shocking to learn that Facebook has taken down the screenshot citing ‘Nudity Content’. What is more, she cannot even log into her account as the site has denied her the access. But she has made her words loud and clear that she won’t stop until such bullies learn the lesson.

It is now or never that we trample down such hooligans and discourage them. So that they think more than twice before harassing any woman in the future. Hopefully, Prerna’s action will be a deterrent example for others.
